Recess

- Children should arrive at school dressed for the weather
of the day so they can safely and comfortably enjoy recess.
- All healthy children are expected to go outside for recess
except when weather conditions are extreme.

- If you desire that your child not go outside at recess on a
specific day because of health reasons, please send a note to the teacher. Please do not send a note becuase the child does not
want to go outside.
Safe Schools Policy

Alpine School District has a Safe Schools Policy which says all students should have a safe school environment. If
your child is being harassed in any way (including sexual harrassment), please report it to the teacher, school psychologist, or principal immediately.
Your child has the right to be safe and protected and feel secure in the school environment.

Safety is a topic that needs to be talked about frequently. Students
need reminders every few weeks.
- Please review with your children the importance of being
safety minded as they go to and from school.
- Be certain kindergarten, first grade, and students new to
the school know their way to and from school.
- Please impress upon your children that they should not
talk to strangers nor accept rides or candy from a stranger.

Withdrawal or Transfer of Students

Should it become necessary to withdraw your child during the school year, please do the
following:
- Notify the school office and his/her teacher at
least a week in advance.
- Be sure to come to the office to pick up a
transfer slip in order to be able to enroll your child in his/her school.
- Return all books to the teacher and the Media
Center.
- Check with lunchroom manager to make sure lunch
charges or refunds have been resolved.

Please take the time to sign up with Target and Smith's (Fresh Values)
for their programs that return a portion of your normal shopping dollars to Westmore.
The office has available the Gold C coupon books. These are great
two-for-one values.
Sally Foster Gift Wrap will again be available form September 28 through October 12.
Delivery will be on November 1, 2000.
Please continue to support our Newpaper Recycling bin in the parking lot.
In the spring, the school will offer Kara Chocolates, always popular treats.
Many local businesses are available to help in small ways. Please take time to thank for their efforts to support
public education.
